| Jools Oliver and Yasmin Le Bon invite you to put your best foot forward for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC). Celebrity mums Jools Oliver and Yasmin Le Bon have given their backing to a new range of high-quality children's tights launched by Blue Skies International in support of GOSHCC; "Kids! Put your best leg forward in these great tights and know that you have done a wonderful thing by helping an amazing place - Great Ormond Street Hospital." says Yasmin. Jools added "As a mother you never know when you may need the vital support of Great Ormond Street Hospital, so supporting its children's charity is a wonderful thing to do." |
![]() | There are basic tights ideal for school, eye-catching patterned and stripy tights and non-slip socks, too. Blue Skies will make a contribution to GOSHCC for every product sold, and have guaranteed to give at least £25,000. Part of this will go towards the funding of the hospital's new Tinker Bell play area, a bright and cheery open plan waiting room and play area which will keep children and their families busy while waiting for tests and appointments. Monies raised will also go towards the urgent redevelopment of the hospital's outdated buildings. The Blue Skies concept is beautifully simple - the hosiery and footwear range is intended to be the first in a series of high-quality every day children's products that directly support and raise funds for GOSHCC. |
The Tinker Bell Play Area: This brand new family and play area, the total cost of which is over £1,000,000, will cater for patients attending day appointments at GOSH. Children will enjoy a toy store, books and games before undergoing treatment and parents will have access to a baby-feeding room, vending machines and other amenities. |
![]() | Great Ormond Street Hospital: Great Ormond Street Hospital is a centre of excellence in the treatment of sick children, the training of doctors and nurses, and research into childhood illness which benefits many more children than the 90,000 who are treated here each year. However, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) faces a major challenge as it fundraises to bring the hospital's facilities up to 21st century standards. We need to provide care in a more comfortable and convenient way, reduce unnecessary stays in hospital and provide better facilities for the one thousand parents a week who need to sleep near their child. |
| To do this will require redevelopment of two thirds of the hospital site to provide the very best in healthcare. The first stages will cost £312 million and we need to raise £123 million of this through public generosity. Once this work is completed we will be able to treat 20 thousand more young patients. GOSHCC's first priority is raising funds for this essential work; however the charity must also continue to support the ongoing work of the hospital through buying vital up-to-date equipment, supporting pioneering research, and funding improved facilities to benefit families and staff.
